Biography

He is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University. He received the BS and the MS degrees in computer engineering from Seoul National University in 1993 and 1995, and the PhD degree in computer science from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2001. Before joining SKKU, he was with Intel and KAIST.

Research interests

His research interest is developing system software and architectural features for forthcoming computing environment. Compiler optimization, parallelization, and memory system optimization are the main areas he has explored. His current interests are:

• Optimizations for Deep-Learning/Big-Data Frameworks
• System Software Design for Non-Volatile Memories
• Program Analysis for Performance and Security
